June 4 is National Cheese Day! Fun facts about National Cheese Day: National Cheese Day was first celebrated in 191 4 in Monroe, WI There is evidence that cheese was first available 3,000 years ago in China! It is a day to discover new varieties of cheese and educate yourself on the process of making cheese (more to come on that in the future) The city of Monroe celebrates National Cheese Day with a two hour parade, carnivals and Swiss and German music You can celebrate in your local area by creating a charcuterie board, embracing new cheese pairings (my fave is cheddar and apple slices), or attending a cheese making workshop.
